Kick the Plug returns to Exmouth Market’s Wilmington Arms, as it is brilliant there and we love them all. Even the moody bar boy lightened up when offered one of Helene’s cakes.

This time around we present the excellent Sunday Best approved Nic Dawson Kelly, with support from our own Indie-folk cutey Catriona Irving, as well Croydon’s foremost Superman Revenge Squad. As usual there will be cakes and badges aplenty, with DJ sets from the Neednowater DJs and Dale Grundle of The Sleeping Years.

Nic Dawson Kelly
The Sunday Best favourite, psych-twisted songwriter Nic Dawson Kelly sits somewhere between Anthony & The Johnsons, Devendra Banhart and Bob Dylan. With an enviable knack for a fabulous melody and a witty perspective on modern life, Nic will win your heart with song as quickly as he’ll entertain you with his lyricism.

Catriona Irving
Catriona Irving is a 25 yr old singer/songwriter based in London. Her debut release was the self-released ‘Running on Empathy’, followed by the Stitch EP which enjoyed excellent reviews (“DIY music at it’s best”, said FACT, while the Metro called her “an artist to watch out for”). She’s currently working on a new EP which is due for a late Autumn release, and in the meantime has been building a reputation for her live show, playing at venues such as 93 feet east, the 12 bar Club and the Borderline, and supporting the Espers and Emilie Simon along the way. Combining clever lyrics and sweet melodies that stick in your head for days, with a sweet and witty live performance, Catriona is making a significant mark on the DIY scene.

Superman Revenge Squad
Superman Revenge Squad is a bloke from Croydon, who’s real name is Ben, accompanied by an acoustic guitar. He only started writing at the beginning of 2007, but his accessible, inventive and painfully funny songs, taking shots at pop culture but never straying too far from endearing self-deprecation have earned him quite a reputation already. Tom Robinson on Radio6 Music described him as “A very sharp lyricist indeed… Absolute genius!”. Most definitely an artist to watch out for.
